Type 304 is the most widely used austenitic stainless steel, containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel for outstanding resistance to chemical and atmospheric corrosives. This cold drawn bar meets ASTM A276 specifications, providing a combination of 73,200 PSI tensile strength, high ductility, and excellent weldability. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
