Type 304 is the most widely used austenitic stainless steel, containing 18% chromium and 8% nickel for outstanding resistance to atmospheric and chemical corrosives. This cold drawn bar meets ASTM A276 standards, providing a combination of 73,200 PSI tensile strength, high ductility, and excellent weldability. It is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
