Type 303 is an austenitic stainless steel specifically modified with sulfur to provide superior machinability, making it the primary choice for automated machining operations. This cold drawn bar meets ASTM A582 standards, delivering 90,000 PSI tensile strength, good corrosion resistance, and non-magnetic properties in the annealed condition. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, only through cold working.
