Type 303 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel modified with sulfur to vastly improve its machinability, making it the most easily worked grade of its class. This cold drawn bar meets ASTM A582 standards and features 90,000 PSI tensile strength. While its corrosion resistance is slightly less than Type 304, it is suitable for many industrial applications. It is non-magnetic and cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
As a medium 1" diameter bar, this material is a versatile choice for general-purpose machined components.
