This 1-1/8" 303 round bar is an austenitic stainless steel specifically designed for superior machinability. An addition of sulfur to its composition acts as a chip breaker, reducing tool wear and allowing for higher cutting speeds. It provides 90,000 PSI tensile strength, good corrosion resistance in mild environments, and conforms to ASTM A582. This grade cannot be hardened by heat treatment.
As a medium-diameter bar, this 1-1/8" size is highly versatile for creating shafts, axles, bushings, spacers, and various machined components.
