Type 304 stainless steel, often called '18-8' for its 18% chromium and 8% nickel content, is the most widely used austenitic stainless alloy. This composition delivers exceptional resistance to atmospheric, chemical, and food industry corrosives. In its annealed condition, this flat bar is non-magnetic, highly ductile, and conforms to ASTM A276 standards for fabrication.
