- A36 Carbon Steel Construction
- ASTM A36 Certified
- 58,000-80,000 PSI Tensile Strength
- Excellent Weldability & Formability
A36 Hot Rolled Steel is a low-carbon structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 36,000 PSI, produced in compliance with ASTM A36 standards. The hot rolling process gives it a distinctive blue-grey, scaly mill finish and slightly rounded edges. Its composition ensures excellent weldability with all common methods, including MIG and stick, and it is easily drilled, punched, and formed.
As a large-format flat bar, this 9-inch wide material provides a stable, robust foundation for demanding applications. It is frequently specified for machinery and column base plates, heavy structural gussets and brackets, reinforcement for transportation frames, and components for industrial dies where strength and a broad surface area are required.
