- A36 Steel Construction
- ASTM A36 Certified
- 36,000 PSI Yield Strength
- Excellent Weldability and Formability
A36 hot rolled steel angle is a low-carbon structural steel with a minimum yield strength of 36,000 PSI, produced by forming steel at high temperatures. This process results in a product with slightly rounded corners and a scaled surface. Compliant with ASTM A36, it offers a reliable combination of strength, ductility, and outstanding weldability, making it a cost-effective and dependable material for fabrication.
As a large structural profile, this 8" x 4" x 1/2" angle is engineered for heavy-duty applications. Its size provides significant resistance to bending forces, making it perfect for building frames, heavy equipment bases, industrial supports, and structural bracing where substantial load-bearing capacity is a primary requirement.

Finish Options
This product comes standard with a hot rolled mill finish, characterized by a blue-gray, scaled surface. This protective scale must be removed by grinding, sandblasting, or pickling before painting or powder coating. For outdoor corrosion resistance, the angle should be galvanized or properly coated. How to Measure
Unequal leg angle is measured by its two outer leg dimensions (A & B) and its thickness (C). Measure from the outer corner to the end of each leg.
Example: To order this angle, specify "A36 Hot Rolled Angle, 8 inch by 4 inch by 1/2 inch thickness".
