- A36 Steel Construction
- ASTM A36 Certified
- 58,000-80,000 PSI Tensile Strength
- Excellent Weldability
A36 hot rolled steel angle is produced by forming low-carbon steel at high temperatures, resulting in a cost-effective product with good mechanical properties. It complies with ASTM A36 standards for structural steel, ensuring reliable strength, ductility, and exceptional weldability using all common methods. The material's inherent characteristics make it easy to cut, drill, and form for a wide range of fabrication projects.
As a medium-sized profile, this 3" x 2-1/2" angle offers a great balance of strength, rigidity, and manageable weight. It is perfectly suited for building structural frames, equipment bases, industrial shelving supports, and reinforcement brackets where robust performance is required without the bulk of larger sections.

Finish Options
This product comes standard with a hot rolled mill finish, characterized by a blue-gray, scaled surface. This protective scale must be removed by grinding or sandblasting before painting, powder coating, or galvanizing. Contact our Los Angeles sales team for custom finish inquiries.
How to Measure
Angle is measured by its two legs (A and B) and its thickness (C). For this unequal leg angle, measure the length of each leg from the outer corner to the end, then measure the material thickness.
Example: To order this angle, specify "Steel Angle, 3 inch by 2-1/2 inch by 3/16 inch thickness".
