- A36 Steel Construction
- ASTM A36 Certified
- 58,000-80,000 PSI Tensile Strength
- Excellent Weldability
Hot rolled A36 steel angle, commonly known as angle iron, is a low-carbon structural steel with excellent formability and weldability. Produced by forming steel at high temperatures, it has a scaled surface and slightly rounded corners. Conforming to ASTM A36, it provides a reliable minimum yield strength of 36,000 PSI, making it a cost-effective choice for general structural and fabrication projects.
As a medium-sized profile, this 2" x 1-1/2" angle provides substantial strength for structural framing, equipment bases, machinery supports, and heavy-duty shelving units where robust load-bearing capacity and rigidity are essential for the application.

Finish Options
This product comes standard with a hot rolled mill finish, characterized by a blue-gray, slightly scaled surface. This raw finish must be removed by grinding or blasting before painting or coating. For corrosion protection, galvanizing services may be available via special order. Contact our Los Angeles sales team for custom finish inquiries.
How to Measure
Angle is measured by its two legs (A & B) and its thickness (C). For unequal leg angle, it is standard practice to specify the longer leg first.
Example: To order this angle, specify "A36 Angle, 2 inch by 1-1/2 inch by 1/8 inch thickness".
