6061-T6 aluminum is a precipitation-hardened alloy containing magnesium and silicon as its primary alloying elements. The T6 temper indicates it has been solution heat-treated and artificially aged to achieve optimal strength. This process results in a versatile material with high strength, good machinability, and excellent weldability, all while conforming to ASTM B211 standards for bar stock.
