6061-T6 aluminum is a precipitation-hardened alloy containing magnesium and silicon as its primary alloying elements. The T6 temper indicates it has been solution heat-treated and artificially aged to achieve optimal strength. This versatile grade conforms to ASTM B211 and provides an excellent combination of high strength, good machinability, and superior corrosion resistance, making it one of the most widely used aluminum alloys.
The large 1-1/2" x 4" cross-section of this bar provides significant strength and stability, making it ideal for base plates, heavy structural supports, die components, and large mounting blocks where rigidity and a high strength-to-weight ratio are critical.
