The most used of all aluminum alloys, essentially pure aluminum addition of manganese, which increases the strength. It has the excellent characteristics of 1100 with higher strength, excellent corrosion resistance, excellent workability, and it may be deep drawn or spun, welded, or brazed.
Most shinny aluminum diamond plate, checker board, diamond shape is made of 3003 aluminum. It is also use in decoration, tracks, make boxes of it. The aluminum come in 1/16 inch, 1/8 inch, 3/16 inch, 1/4 inch thick in 4X8 and 4X10 length and width. We will cut it by sheer.
It is alloyed with 1.2% manganese to provide a tensil strength range of 17,000 to 30,000 psi. Excellent workability, weldability and corrosion resistance. Used for drawing, spinning, fuel tanks, sheet metal work and other applications.
H Temper Subdivision
H1--Strain hardened only.
H2--Strain hardened, then partially anneled.
H3--Strain hardened, then stabilized.
Degree of strain hardening is indicated by a second digit:
2--1/4 hard (tensile strength midway between 0 and 4).
4--1/2 hard (tensile strength midway between 0 and 8).
6--3/4 hard (tensile strength midway between 4 and 8).
8--full hard (tensile strength archived by 75% cold reduction after anneal).
9--extra hard (minimum tensile 2.0 ksi higher than 8).
