Same as other baluster, it's shaping of metal using localized compressive forces. Forging is often classified according to the temperature at which it is performed: '"cold," "warm," or "hot" forging. Forged parts can range in weight from less than a kilogram to 170 metric tons

Mostly used in curved stairways on homes and buildings. Designed with arches, curved walls, and etc. It is often best when there is a long span, and then the scroll balusters can be used every 3rd, 4th or 5th balusters with either straight, knuckle, baskets or gothic balusters in-between. Balusters can be aligned in symmetrical with the scrolls facing each other or asymmetry can be the theme where the balusters begin and end randomly.
